Betty Hamilton is a managing director and leads PNC Healthcare’s National Strategy Group. The National Strategy Group was formed to align the traditional commercial and healthcare investment banking platforms at PNC to provide a “one-stop-shop” for addressing clients’ strategic financing needs. Hamilton has been at PNC since October of 2016, most recently overseeing a strategic partnership that enabled the client to achieve its vision of a patient-centric revenue cycle organization.
Prior to PNC, Hamilton was senior vice president and practice manager of Financial Advisory at Kaufman Hall. She served as trusted advisor to a variety of not-for-profit healthcare organizations in evaluating capital structures in context of an organization’s risk tolerance and credit capacity. She has experience in a wide range of tax-exempt and taxable financings that include public and private debt issuances for new money, advanced refunding, and current refunding purposes. Hamilton also advised clients on municipal derivatives transactions that include Board and Finance Committee education, policy-making, structuring, pricing, accounting, and restructuring to better align clients’ risk management objectives. She supported the mergers and acquisitions practice in evaluating capital structure implications and market access for a number of business combinations ranging from joint ventures to system-to-system mergers and for both buy- and sell-side hospitals and health systems. Preceding her work at Kaufman Hall, she was a manager of Treasury Operations at Ford and Ford Credit Treasury.
Hamilton holds an MBA with Honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Analytic Finance and Economics, a BS in Finance with High Distinction from The Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business, and is a Schreyer Scholar from The Pennsylvania State University.
