If you're planning to open a new account or apply for a new service, you'll need the following documents. Choose the product you are looking for to determine which documents you may need to apply.

Acceptable Primary and Secondary ID Types

We will accept two forms of primary ID, or one form of primary ID and one secondary ID.

Primary ID:

  • Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • State-issued or Authorized City-issued ID
  • Resident Alien ID
  • Military ID
  • Veteran’s Healthcare ID
  • Firearm ID
  • Global Entry Card

Secondary ID:

  • U.S. Visa
  • Paystub
  • Home Rental Agreement

What You Need to Apply

Your business's Tax Identification Number and additional documents based on your business type.  

Choose your business entity type below to determine which documents you may need to provide to verify your business registration and your authority to act on behalf of the business.

Sole Proprietorship

  • SSN of owner who will sign on account.
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternative Name, or Assumed Name Registration.

Non-profit Organization

  • Based on the entity type associated with your Non-Profit Organization, refer to which documents are requred as detailed below (see requirements for Partnership, LLC, Corporation).
  • A 501(c) tax form or state Non-Profit registration may be needed for certain product eligibility.

Unincorporated

  • SSN of officers or directors who will sign on account.
  • By-laws.
  • Certification of Formation/Organization.
  • Board of directors meeting minutes (signed and dated).
  • Authorization letter on company letterhead.
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed name Registration.
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.
    • Legal name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, Citizenship, Percent of Ownership.

LLC or LLP

  • SSN of members, managers or partners who will sign on account.
  • Operating Agreement.
  • Limited Partnership Agreement (LLP only).
  • Certification of Formation/Organization (LLC) or Certificate of Limited Partnership (LLP).
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration.
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.
    • Legal name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, Citizenship, Percent of Ownership.

Partnership

  • SSN of partners who will sign on account.
  • Partnership Agreement.
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration.
  • Information regarding the individual Beneficial Owners of the business. Beneficial Owners are those who own, directly or indirectly, 25% or more of the equity interests of the business. This information is collected to help fight financial crime.
    • Legal name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Address, Citizenship, Percent of Ownership.

Corporation

  • SSN of officers or directors who will sign on account.
  • By-laws.
  • Articles of Incorporation and any amendments.
  • Certification of Formation/Organization.
  • Board of directors meeting minutes (signed and dated).
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration.

What You Need to Apply

It's easy, secure and takes about 15 minutes. If approved, your card will arrive within 4 to 10 days.

To complete the application, you’ll need:

  • Company Tax ID
  • Company annual revenue
  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your monthly housing payment
  • Your gross annual income

You will also need the following beneficial owner information for anyone that owns 25% or more of the business:

  • Full Legal Name
  • Home Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Ownership Percentage
  • Citizenship Status

If any party does not have a Social Security Number, the application cannot be submitted online and it will be necessary to go to a PNC branch to apply. One of the following identifying documents is needed for any party that does not have a Social Security Number:

  • Current Passport
  • Diplomatic Passport
  • Mexican Matricula

When a trust is a beneficial owner: If a trust is a beneficial owner, you must list the trustee and provide the trustee’s information as appropriate.

PLEASE NOTE: Social Security Numbers are required for all parties when completing the online application.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each customer that opens an account. What this means for you: when you open an account, we will ask you your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying information.

What You Need to Apply

  • Your business Tax Identification Number.
  • Your Social Security Number.
  • A valid e-mail address.
  • Existing checking account number where you’d like funds deposited.

You will also need the following beneficial owner information for anyone that owns 25% or more of the business:

  • Full Legal Name
  • Home Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Ownership Percentage

If any party does not have a Social Security Number, the application cannot be submitted online and it will be necessary to go to a PNC branch to apply. One of the following identifying documents is needed for any party that does not have a Social Security Number:

  • Current Passport
  • Diplomatic Passport
  • Mexican Matricula

When a trust is a beneficial owner: If a trust is a beneficial owner, you must list the trustee and provide the trustee's information as appropriate.
