Rich Brown

Rich Brown is a senior vice president at PNC Bank and head of its Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences group. He has 30 plus years of experience working with high-growth companies. He joined PNC in 2008 (via their RBC Bank USA acquisition) as a senior banker for the Technology and Life Sciences specialty banking practice.

Prior to joining PNC, he ran his own boutique strategic advisory and investment banking firm. Brown spent the previous 10 years with two different venture capital firms in positions of general partner, principal, and senior associate where he evaluated hundreds of businesses, made numerous investments, managed dozens of rounds of financings, and achieved successful exits via both IPO and mergers and acquisitions. He’s been on the board of directors of 11 companies, and was also a board observer at two publicly traded companies.

Before becoming a venture capitalist, Brown spent eight years working in various operating roles including business development, product marketing, and design engineering for leading global technology companies General Instrument (now a division of Motorola), Sony, DuPont, and Westinghouse. He earned his MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
