Accept card payments on your mobile device using PNC Mobile Accept within the PNC Mobile App
After logging in to the PNC Mobile App, the Accounts page will provide account balances, reminders, new products and offers.
Additionally, PNC Business Checking customers who have applied and been approved for PNC Mobile Accept will see quick actions such as Accept Payment and Payment Center, where you can accept credit card payments using your mobile device.
Select “Accept Payment” if you want to accept a credit card payment using a card reader.

Enter the transaction details
Enter the amount you are charging your customer for the sale of your goods, products or services. If you have set up a tax rate and label in the Payment Center settings, you will see the breakdown of the charge amount, tax, and subtotal. Customers who do not have these settings set up will not see the tax drop down and will need to calculate any applicable taxes and include them as part of the total charge amount entered.
Additionally, there will be an option to enter a note to track any other details you want to capture such as size, color or location for reference.
If you haven't set up tax rates and labels, that can be done through the Payment Center settings.
Important: You are responsible for the accuracy of all data entered into PNC Mobile Accept. If you set up a tax rate in the Payment Center settings, it will apply to the entire transaction.
Select “CONTINUE TO TIP” to continue.
Tips must first be enabled through settings. If tips have been disabled via the Payment Center, you can press "Continue" and advance to the "Review Payment" screen.
Accept Payment
Select the amount your customer would like to tip
Choose to tip by selecting one of the percentage options, enter a custom amount, or you can select no tip. By selecting one of the percentage options or no tip, the option selected will automatically calculate and you will advance to the “Review Payment” screen.
Select “CUSTOM TIP” to continue.

Your Customers can enter a custom tip amount
The subtotal, before the tip is applied, will display as well as the tip amount.
Select “APPLY TIP” to continue.
Review Payment
Review the payment details and choose whether you are using a card reader or manually entering the card details
Confirm the details about the payment before selecting the payment method. If the payment details need to be changed, you can select “Edit Item” which will take you back to the Accept Payment screen.
Select “USE CARD READER” to continue.
Accept Payment
Use the card reader to dip or swipe your customer’s card
Using the paired reader, your customers’ card will be charged the total amount you entered into PNC Mobile Accept for the transaction in exchange for the product or service you provided.
Dip or swipe your customer's card with the reader and do not close the app during this process. This may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
Select the card to continue the tutorial.
Transaction Completed
If the transaction successfully completes, you will be directed to a Transaction Completed screen. This screen is where you can share the transaction receipt with your customer.
The transaction is complete!
That’s it, the transaction is complete. On this screen, you can:
Review the transaction details
Send a receipt
Accept a new payment
Return to the Payment Center.

Enter the transaction details

Enter the Card Details
Using manual entry, populate all required cardholder data including card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing zip code. Charge Amount, Tax, Tip and Note cannot be edited from this screen. If edits to the transaction need to be made, that can be done by tapping the back arrow.
You can show or hide the card number by pressing the eye icon.
Select “CONTINUE” to continue.
Confirm Payment
Confirm the total amount to charge your customer
When the confirmation screen pops up, ensure the amount you wish to charge your customer for this transaction is displaying correctly. If correct, select ‘CONFIRM’ to submit the transaction. If not correct, select ‘BACK’ to adjust the amount accordingly.
Select “CONFIRM” to continue.
Transaction Completed
If the transaction successfully completes, you will be directed to a Transaction Completed screen. This screen is where you can share the transaction receipt with your customer.
The transaction is complete!
That’s it, the transaction is complete. On this screen, you can:
Review the transaction details
Send a receipt
Accept a new payment
Return to the Payment Center.

Select “SEE ALL” to see all recent transactions.

See all transactions from the past 180 days
The transaction history shows transactions in chronological order for the last 180 days. Transactions prior to 180 days will not display and cannot be refunded through the app. Easily see the card type, transaction status, date, and transaction amount. To see additional details, refund a transaction or share a receipt, simply select the transaction you would like to see.
Select the transaction you want to refund to see how to process a refund transaction.

Transaction details show the notes, if entered, for the transaction. Additional details include transaction number and transaction type. From here, you’re also able to send the receipt by selecting share receipt or refund the transaction.
Refunding is not available for the first 25 minutes from when the transaction is submitted. Instead a VOID button will appear below the transaction details and you can void the transaction. After 25 minutes, void is no longer an option and the option to refund the transaction will automatically display.
Select “REFUND” to continue.

To refund the transaction, you’ll be asked to confirm by selecting ‘REFUND TRANSACTION’. This will revert the entire original transaction and initiate the transfer funds back to your customer’s card. Void is available within the first 25 minutes to refund a transaction.
Select “REFUND TRANSACTION” to continue.

The refund will appear as an additional transaction for the business and your customer. Refund details will be available in the transaction history and available to share via receipt with your customer.
The receipt will generate as an image that can be shared using any native app available on your device.
Select “DONE” to o return to transaction history and see the refunded transaction.

As soon as the refund is processed, it will reflect in the transaction history.

Void available for 25 minutes from transaction submission.
The transaction history shows transactions in chronological order for the last 180 days but only transactions submitted within the last 25 minutes can be voided. Refund transactions can also be voided within the first 25 minutes of submission.

Once the transaction is selected, if void is available the “VOID” button will appear below the transaction details. If void is not available, you will need to process a refund of the transaction.

Confirm that you wish to void the transaction. If you do not want to void it, simply select “back”. Voided transactions cannot be reversed and will no longer display in transaction history.

- PNC Mobile Accept is a method of accepting credit card payments and is available through PNC Mobile Banking. Payment processing services through PNC Mobile Accept are provided by Tempus Technologies, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of PNC Bank, N.A.) and subject to application, credit review of the business and its owners, and approval. Use of PNC Mobile Accept requires (1) an eligible and active business checking account and agreement with PNC Bank, N.A. (2) an approved and active payment processing account and agreement with Tempus Technologies, Inc., and (3) the PNC mobile banking application be downloaded and installed on a supported device. Certain other restrictions may apply.
- PNC Bank does not charge a fee for Mobile Banking, but upfront charges and fees apply to the payment processing services through PNC Mobile Accept. In addition, third party message and data rates may apply to your use of or access to Mobile Banking, including PNC Mobile Accept, such as fees your wireless carrier may charge you for data usage or SMS/text messaging services. Check with your wireless carrier for details regarding your specific wireless plan and any data usage or text messaging charges that may apply. PNC Mobile Accept and payment processing services are not deposit products and are not guaranteed or insured by the FDIC or any other governmental agency.
- Tax and tip functionalities are features available through PNC Mobile Accept. You are responsible for the accuracy and validity of all data entered into these features and proper application to your transactions. Features you elect to apply to any transaction will apply to the entire transaction. Guidance related to using or availability of these features is not legal or tax advice. You should consult an attorney or your qualified tax adviser for advice specific to your circumstances.
- Except as is otherwise set forth in your agreement for payment processing with Tempus Technologies, Inc., your funds for card transactions will ordinarily be transferred to your PNC business checking account within three business days from the time your batch (an electronic file containing your card transactions) is received. If a batch is received after the cut-off time, or on a day that is not a business day, those transactions will generally be processed on the next business day. Business day means Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
