Hello, and thank you for joining me as we walk through the 1st E of cybersecurity… Establish.
And what does establish mean? Establish means that you develop business procedures that center around your day-to-day business processes.
And what those procedures should look like, is identification of the business processes and the risks associated with those processes.
As you're looking through those risks, you need to understand that there are controls that you can put in place to mitigate the risk and understanding whether or not those controls effectively mitigate the risk and adding additional controls as needed.
In creating procedures, it's important that the procedures are well-defined, repeatable, and testable in nature so that whether it's internally or externally, you can understand that your business processes could be looked at by someone else and understanding that the controls that have been put in place are effectively mitigating the threat.
It's also important to understand that you don't deviate from the procedures unless there's a business need to do so.
There's so much more to explore as we walk through the 5 Es of cybersecurity, we hope you'll continue to join us as we walk through each of them in detail.
If you have any specific cybersecurity questions, we encourage you to contact your PNC representative, who will schedule time with our security team. Thank you.
