Michael D. Thomas
Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking
Michael D. Thomas is executive vice president and head of Corporate & Institutional Banking for The PNC Financial Services Group.
Prior to being named to his current role in March 2024, Thomas served as the head of PNC Real Estate, where he oversaw the delivery of financial products and services to real estate clients and investors through its four national businesses: Agency Finance, Midland Loan Services, Real Estate Banking and Tax Credit Solutions. In 2023, he also assumed responsibility for the Corporate Strategy group, supporting the research, planning and execution of strategic initiatives across PNC's three lines of business.
During his 27-year career at PNC, Thomas has held progressive leadership roles in PNC Real Estate and Debt Capital Markets. Prior to serving as the head of PNC Real Estate, Thomas managed the Real Estate, Business Credit and Equipment Finance Loan Syndications teams in Debt Capital Markets, responsible for product strategy and loan originations in each of these businesses. While in this role, Thomas added responsibility for managing the Real Estate Investment Trust business within PNC Real Estate to his responsibilities with the specialty syndication teams. Prior to joining PNC in 1997 as a relationship manager, he worked for JPMorgan Securities, Inc. providing advisory and capital raising services to C&I and real estate clients.
He is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and the Urban Land Institute. Thomas has also served as board member and treasurer for the Pittsburgh Business Group On Health.
Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University in 1993 and maintains his NASD Series 7, 63, 79 and 24 securities licenses.
