To get started, open the PNC Mobile Banking App.

Enter your user ID in the field provided.

Next, enter your password.

Then, Select Sign In to continue.

Customize your settings to meet your needs

Visit Profile and Settings, located in the main navigation screen of the PNC Mobile App.

Then, select Low Cash Mode.

Choose the Virtual Wallet account you want to customize for Low Cash Mode

Choose the Virtual Wallet account you would like to customize.

For this demo, select Virtual Wallet Spend x2958.

You can choose a preset amount, or enter your own custom amount.

Select custom to enter a custom amount. For the purpose of this demo, we have pre-selected $500.

Alerts and Notification Settings

Next, you’ll set up your notification preferences.

You can choose to receive notifications via email or in a text message.

Select Email and Text Alerts to view all of the options.

Here, you will be able to enter which email or phone number you would like to use to receive notifications.

Next, select Push Notifications to view the options to set up push notifications to your smartphone.

Select Enable Push Notifications. The notifications will turn on and off each time the switch is selected.

1. PNC does not charge a fee for Mobile Banking. However, third party message and data rates may apply. These include fees your wireless carrier may charge you for data usage and text messaging services. Check with your wireless carrier for details regarding your specific wireless plan and any data usage or text messaging charges that may apply. Also, a supported mobile device is needed to use the Mobile Banking App. Mobile Deposit is a feature of PNC Mobile Banking. Use of the Mobile Deposit feature requires a supported camera-equipped device and you must download a PNC mobile banking app. Eligible PNC Bank account and PNC Bank Online Banking required. Certain other restrictions apply. See the mobile banking terms and conditions in the PNC Online Banking Service Agreement.

Extra Time

Prevent overdraft fees by using PNC’s Extra Time feature

If your account becomes overdrawn on a business day, you will have until 10 pm ET on the next business day to bring your available balance up to at least $0 to avoid overdraft fees.

If your account becomes overdrawn after 10 pm ET or on a non-business day, you will have until 10pm ET the second business day after the account is overdrawn to bring your available balance to at least $0 to avoid an overdraft fee.

An Extra Time Alert will appear on your screen to let you know how much time you have left to make adjustments.

Select Extra Time to continue.

Choose when to receive Extra Time alerts so you know how long you have to bring your available balance to at least $0 before you are charged any overdraft fees.

Select 24 Hours remaining to continue.

1. In order to avoid overdraft fees, you must bring the available balance in your account to at least $0 before your Extra Time expires. If you make a deposit, the time it takes for your deposit to be reflected in your available balance and for those funds to become available to you will vary based on the deposit type and time. Depending on your deposit type or your deposit time, your deposit may not be available before your Extra Time period expires, and you may incur overdraft fees. See your Funds Availability policy for more information. Overdrawing an account, maintaining a negative available balance for any period of time, and returning transactions as unpaid may have other consequences, including account closure or negative impacts to your ability to obtain financial services including loans, deposit accounts, and other services at PNC and other institutions.

1. Debit card transactions do not qualify for Payment Control. When you choose to return an item that has been presented to PNC for payment, we will return the item to the payee’s bank for insufficient funds, and the payee will not receive payment from PNC. PNC is not responsible for satisfying any obligations between you and the payee or any other party with respect to an item you decide to return. Before choosing to return an item, you should consider rules the payee may have or actions the payee may take on late/returned payments.
