Marc A. Wenhammar

Managing Director, Investment Strategy

Marc is a managing director on the Investment Strategy team. In this role he contributes to all investment strategy related activities for the PNC Institutional Asset Management®, PNC Private Bank® and PNC Private Bank Hawthorn® business lines. In addition, he provides recommendations for overall strategic and tactical asset allocation of client portfolios and provides thought leadership on key investment issues. Marc also performs research and analysis that support the Bank's overall investment process.

Marc brings more than 30 years of international investment experience, in various capacities, to PNC, which he joined upon the BBVA acquisition. He was director of International Asset Management at BBVA USA from 2014 to 2021. Between 2012 and 2014 he was a global investment strategist at BBVA Global Private Banking (New York), and prior to that, from 2008, Marc was chief investment officer of BBVA Switzerland (Zurich –international private banking). Between 1998 and 2008 he was based in Madrid, at BBVA Asset Management, managing retail and institutional portfolios.

Prior to joining BBVA Group, Marc was based in London (UK) at the Foreign & Colonial Group, as director for emerging markets equities and debt portfolios, which he joined in 1991 (developing and managing a range of retail and institutional portfolios) having previously worked for several years in Mexico, Spain and Malaysia as an investment consultant.

Marc graduated with a Bachelor of Science in economics and with a Masters of International Trade and Finance from Universite Paris II.
